Gertie Bruin: accordion

Gertie Bruin (1972, born under Aries in Oothooz'n) Graduated in music education, as well as music performance at the Enschede conservatorium. Today he does them both for a living.
He is a member of a Cajun/TexMex-band Laredo Rose. Besides that, he is engaged in the area of street theatre, played in various ensembles, and was the winner of the price for the best accompanist of the Northern-Netherlands songcontest in 1995. He accompanies the Groningen operasinger Lies Akkerman at several theatrical acts.
Gertie is playing both modern classical, and popular music (i.e. jazz and blues) as well as world music, from warmblooded Argentinian tango and melancholic Klezmer up to Russian folk.
